FCPS Adds Online Safety Tracker

FCPS Adds Online Safety Tracker

Fayette County Public Schools has added an online safety tracker to post up-to-date summaries of situations impacting our school community. For example, on Sept. 18, Tates Creek High School was evacuated twice because of a faulty fire sensor.

Along with the tracker, our webpage includes emergency procedures with a description of terms like lockdown as well as resources like the FCPS Safety Plan and inclement weather guidelines. Please visit fcps.net/safety to check it out, or look for the icon link on our district homepage under Popular Shortcuts. The safety tracker page is also linked in the header of every school website for easy access.

Providing a safe environment to work, learn, and grow is a top priority for FCPS. That’s why since 2018, our district has invested more than $107 million to improve school safety – adding 83 mental health specialists, more than doubling our number of police officers and school nurses, and securing vestibules in every school.

We are grateful to everyone who helps keep our schools safe!
